Who We Are and What We Do
Tiny Paws and Chi Rescue is a non-profit, all volunteer organization with foster homes in the Houston and Spring, Texas area as well as Connecticut and is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing of abused, abandoned and neglected small breed dogs. As in most rescue groups, our dogs are cared for in healthy, safe, loving foster home environments.
Tiny Paws and volunteer foster parents work very hard to be sure that their foster dog feels safe and loved while working on housetraining, crate training, socialization, etc. All our dogs are spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated, heartworm tested, fecal tested, microchipped, on heartworm preventative and have all other veterinary needs taken care of prior to posting as adoptable.
How We Do It
We receive absolutely no funding from anyone and solely rely on donations, adoption fees that are based the cost care for each dog taken in and rely on our Foster Home and Volunteer network for help. Our dogs come from shelters, animal control, puppy mills, as well as owner turn-ins. They are immediately taken to our veterinarian for a complete physical examination. They are spayed or neutered, checked for both heart and intestinal worms, receive appropriate treatments and then appropriately vaccinated.
My husband saw Sparky on the Tiny Paws website and just had to have him! He had chihuahuas before, but I never had. He fit perfectly into our family and I don’t know what we did without him! Thank you Tiny Paws for all you do!
Thank you to Faye and Marlena for a wonderful experience. We're very happy welcome Houston into our family. I appreciate the prompt and transparent communication about his personality. He was definitely worth the drive from Austin!
Tiny Paws is one of the best most compassionate and efficient rescue groups in Houston! Genny and her entire family take the best care of every animal that comes into their home and loves them like they are theirs until they find their forever home.
Adopted 2 chihuahuas from Tiny Paws. Completed my app and picked up my babies within couple days. I love my additions to my family! The adoption fee helps to defray vet, food, etc. bills but in no way does it come near to paying all the bills! Volunteers and Genny donate countless hours and work tirelessly. I love my 2 chi's and I still donate when I can. My only regret is that I can't do more for Tiny Paws. Thank you Tiny Paws for all you do for these babies!!! Susan, Lola, and Annika
We adopted our Buttons from TP nearly 4 years ago! Genny does a great job screening the families for fostering and adoptions. If ever we adopt another small breed dog, we will definitely start at Tiny Paws!
